All of the talk around the Houston Texans during the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine sounded like fantasy football managers trying to decide how to build their roster.
According to my colleague Jonathan Alexander from the Houston Chronicle, the Texans are actively seeking to acquire a top running back, either through free agency or via trade. Joe Mixon, who was traded from the Cincinnati Bengals to Houston in 2024, was expected to be the marquee back for at least a few more seasons. However, due to "injuries" and inconsistent performance, it seems likely that the former Oklahoma Sooner star will be released this offseason.
