Maybe the worst part of the Pittsburgh Steelers not having a franchise quarterback is this. In all the years Pittsburgh has badly needed a quarterback, some of the worst quarterback classes imaginable have greeted the franchise.
The 2022 edition was a mess, with Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy as its crown jewel. Last year was a perfect time to pounce, but the class was thin with just two first-round options. Pittsburgh resisted the siren song to select Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, who waited until Day Three to hear his name called. Armed with a dozen draft picks this year, the Steelers are squinting to find any viable first-round option.
