SEATTLE, Wash. – The Portland Pilots overcame a double digit deficit to pull within one three times in the second half but never got over the hump as the Seattle U Redhawks pulled away for a 71-59 victory Saturday night at the Redhawk Center.
It was a defensive slugfest, reminiscent of the first game between the two teams in Portland that the Pilots won 54-53 on a buzzer beater. This time it was a late 16-0 by the Redhawks (17-12, 6-10 WCC) that was the difference.
Joel Foxwell led the Pilots (12-17, 5-11) with 20 points, three assists and three steals.
